Principal's Welcome
The Sunnybank Hills State School community welcomes you to our school. Our school takes great pride in providing a supportive and nurturing climate where every child feels they belong and will achieve success.
To this end we believe the LAW of every classroom in our school has every child experiencing:
Love & Laughter
Achievement and a real sense of
Worth.
At Sunnybank Hills we are committed to providing a curriculum that has intellectual quality and encourages children to make links from the tangible to the abstract through real-life and life-like learning experiences. Our children need to be challenged to be
  • Effective communicators across a wide variety of contexts now and into the future
  • Moral and ethical citizens who display a deep understanding of self and society
  • Enthusiastic lifelong learners who are responsible when working independently and with others
  • Confident individuals with the ability to self-improve and be self-disciplined
  • Critical thinkers who use strategies to extend, create and adapt
  • Efficient information seekers able to gain, organise and utilise information from a variety of contexts
Our school has many features and facilities that provide an environment conducive for quality learning and teaching.
The strength and success of our school continues to lie in the support and combined efforts of our total school community --- children, parents, staff and community members. The cornerstone to reaching our potential is in fostering open, honest and clear two-way communication.

At Sunnybank Hills State School we have actively pursued a reputation for striving for excellence in various endeavours. This can be seen in our many achievements throughout the school’s history. Of note our academic results in the national testing program (NAPLAN) and university challenges, awards of excellence in music festivals for Choir, String Orchestra, Symphonic Winds and Concert Band. Dance and drama awards, through Wakakirri, chess competitions and premierships in interschool sporting competitions reflect the diverse programs of excellence available to our children.

We actively encourage excellence for responsible and caring behaviour. This reputation for excellence in our school has resulted from the commitment and dedication of our staff, the children themselves, but most of all through the partnership that exists between home and school.

As partners in education we look forward to your support and working with you in the most important task of nurturing your child’s development and potential.
Welcome to Sunnybank Hills State School.
